Despite Lynn’s everyday challenges living with cerebral palsy, his good nature and optimism on life never changed. It was important to Copskey that this sculpture reflect Lynn’s optimism and courage in the face of life’s adversities.
A strong civic-minded leader in West Baltimore’s Lexington/Poe Community, Lorraine Ledbetter was unanimously chosen by local residents for a commissioned bronze portrait honoring her for her dedication and service to their community. After five sittings, approximately two hours each, the portrait was finished and later installed within the Lexington Terrace Center.
After studying many photographs of Jimmy Hoffa, Copskey strove to capture a true likeness of his character and personality. Hoffa’s granddaughter met with Copskey to review the work in progress and gave final approval, and the bronze portrait is located in the Teamsters Union headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Commissioned by the Maryland Province of Jesuits to design and create a bronze floor relief for the newly renovated Baltimore Basilica, the nation’s oldest basilica designed by Benjamin Latrobe and John Carroll, commemorating their bicentennial. Measuring three feet in diameter and weighing nearly one hundred and thirty pounds, it has the distinction of being the only contemporary work of art permanently placed within the Basilica since the 19th century.
